Chapter 20

Rachel made her way out to the deck that surrounded the lodge. The air
felt chilly after being in the hot and crowded lounge. She shivered slightly and
making her way around the smokers that had come out to light up. In the
distance she could see the lights that outlined campers twinkle in the darkness.

Rachel jumped when someone brushed against her. Then smiled warmly
when she realized that it was Petey. “It got a little warm in there," she nodded
her head toward the lounge door.

“Yeah, we have a good crowd tonight," Petey replied. "This place is definitely
rockin’.”

“Is it always like this?" Rachel asked as she watched the crowd inside through the windows.

“It’s the first night, so there are more people here than normal. It settles down
once the season gets underway. More people start partying at their own places
and come here after the curfew hours.” Petey explained.

“Where do you do your partying?" Rachel asked shyly.

Petey laughed and hoisted herself up on the deck railing beside Rachel.
She bent her head downward and said “I really don't party in the true sense. I'm
not fond of the hangovers the next morning," she winced.

“I know what you mean," Rachel agreed.

“What about you? Are you a party girl?” Petey looked down at Rachel silhouette in the
moonlight.

“Noooo. A party girl is not me in any sense of the word. That would be Dory.
She tends to like the night life. She is the one that drags me to the clubs down in
Texas," she scoffed.

“Texas is a long way from here. This lounge is the closest thing we have to a
club. And this " Petey reached out her hands indicating the darkness that
surrounded the lodge "is our night life.”

The sound of voices approaching caused both women to turn toward the
lounge exit. Petey slipped down off the railing and stood closer to Rachel.
“Fuckin’ dike!" an angry male voice grumbled to his companion.

“Dale that was da female equivilalent of Evander Holi-funkin-field." the shorter man slurred as
they headed toward the back of the deck.

“Yeah, well she had no fuckin cause to kick us outta there.” The taller man
cursed. "Well...well...what do we have here?” He clucked as he spied the two
women at the end of the deck.

“You boys just need to keep on movin’," Petey advised.

“Now ain't that cute, she's protectin’ her lover," the one called Dale spat out.

“Must be love, huh Roy. See how she's moving in front of red-head. “

“Very protective." Roy sneered as he and Dale drew closer.

“Tell me blondy, just what is it that you get out of munching on carpet when you
could enjoy a piece of this," Dale leered as he grabbed his crotch. He turned
toward Roy and laughed.

Rachel backed up against the railing and looked back toward the lounge
door hoping that someone else would come out onto the deck. But all the
smokers had retreated inside for the time being. She wasn't afraid of the two
drunks, just uncomfortable.  To Rachel's surprise, Petey joined in laughing with
the men. She put a hand out on Dale's shoulder like they were long lost friends.

“Now that's a good one," she shook her head. “I mean...that was truly
original..." and in one swift move she had her hand on Dale's crotch and unlucky for him all
that he had between his nuts and Petey’s hand was some flimsy sweatpants. He almost went
to his knees when Petey squeezed hard. “You think this..." and she twisted cloth and flesh
causing the drunk to gasp in pain “is what women want?" Roy started toward Petey causing
Petey to twist her hand harder. “If I were you...." she advised the hapless Dale "I would tell
Roy to stay back or I will rip this off" emphasizing her earnestness by twisting her hand even
harder.

“Get back asshole," Dale whined to Roy.

“Now that's a good little redneck" Petey smiled hard. “Rachel why don't you
head back to the lounge and call security.”

“I’m not going  leave you out here with them.“ Rachel said calmly.

“Oh, I don't think that these good ole boys are gonna do anything stupid now. “
Petey grinned. “I think I have things well in hand." Petey laughed as she twisted
her hand a little harder, causing Dale to make whimpering noises.

Terri was out the door first, followed by Barb and two security guards.
“Not you two again?" Terri shook her head. “Didn’t you throw them out of the
Lounge earlier Barb?"

“Yeah, they were startin trouble inside. Tryin’ to pick up a couple of sisters" Barb
nodded her head.

“Did you know that she can squeeze the juice out of a grapefruit with one hand?”
Terri nudged Dale. “Bet you’re glad you're not a fruit right now, huh" she snickered.
“We’ll leave..... just get her....... to let go..." Dale pleaded in misery.

Petey smiled as she let up on her grip. The taller of the two guards
grabbed one of Dale's arm's as he sort of slumped away while the other guard
placed a hand on Roy's arm. “You fuckin dikes are gonna be soo sorry...." Dale
stammered as security escorted the two off the deck and down the steps.

“I need to go wash my hands," Petey sighed as she brushed them up and down
on her pants.

Terri laughed with her as they headed back into the lounge. “ Yeah, I got some disinfectant
inside for them crotch cooties ... just don't ask me to shake your hand....I know where it's
been......"
