Petey was led by the wizen older woman through the labyrinth of corridors underneath the hospital. They entered a service elevator and headed up from the bowels of the sub-basement and emerged onto a huge dock area. There were workers loading rolling carts of laundry onto the back of a van. One of them looked up and walked over toward Petey and Gezzie. “Wassup Gezzie” the young woman eyed Petey uneasily. “Carol….this here gal is looking for the dirt on Knight!” Gezzie cut right to the quick of the matter at hand. “She’s a bitch!” Carol exclaimed and then nodded for Gezzie and Petey to follow her to the other end of the dock out of earshot of her coworkers. “Whatever you do…don’ t get in her cross hairs! Once she is on your case….wouldn't at her mercy!” Carol stopped walking and faced Petey and Gezzie. Petey could tell that Carol was uneasy at her presence and wanted to put the woman at ease. “My friend was put on the psych ward today…she was picked up on the “threat to herself and others….and my friend…she wouldn't’t hurt a fly….or herself…she has been through too much…you know what I mean?” Petey said earnestly. “Shit….Gezzie knows…I was sent to be seen by Knight a couple of years ago…. anger management issues….she tried to come on to me….and I wouldn't bite….I ended up demoted….on corrective counseling and damn near lost my job…not because I’m gay….but because I would not play nice with her. ” Carol shook her head. “I finally got transferred to a new therapist….and well….things are a lot better! But I have issues with Knight. That woman has the management here under her thumb. She knows where are the skeletons are if ya get my drift and she plays dirty….real dirty. Whatever is told to her in sessions is used to keep ya under her control. I was lucky…. she went on an emergency medical leave and my case got transferred to another therapist….and since I was doing better under the new therapist….case closed!” Carol smiled at the memory. “How long has she been here?” Petey asked. “Too fucking long….” Gezzie breathed. “About 5 years and she is good at getting her way.” Gezzie nudged Carol in the side. “Tell her bout the sessions…” Gezzie encouraged her friend. Carol looked away and Petey could tell the woman was fighting for control. “She uses hypnosis….” Carol’s voice trailed away. Petey put her hand on Carol’s shoulder and squeezed it in compassion. Carol dropped her head and in a small hushed voice explained a session. “She….uses that ….to…to…get what she wants…to….touch…to be…touched….” “I am sorry….I didn’t mean to bring up painful memories for you.” Petey said gently. “What is painful…is that she can get away with what she does in the name of therapy….that ain’t right!” Carol shook her head sadly and then realized that her co- workers were waiting for her return. “I gotta get back to work…” she smiled ruefully. “Ya know Gezzie…I bet Melanie could help this gal out…she is an aide up on the Behavior Health unit….” Carol nodded to Gezzie. “You’re right….and I know how to get you…to her…” Gezzie smiled wickedly. ******************************************************************************************* Dory tried to resist Lindy’s kiss. She pulled back but Lindy was relentless and before she could think about that front door key, Dory was kissing Lindy back. It was a thrill and it was intoxicating, like tasting forbidden fruit. Lindy knew exactly which button to push. In a matter of moments she had Dory breathless and wanting more. Lindy knew then that she could have had Dory right then, right there. She pulled back and looked at lustful gaze in Dory’s eyes. Lindy knew that look; she knew it all too well and it would be just a matter of time before this one would be in her bed. The signs were all there. “So…what are you going to do next?” Dory asked in hushed voice. “I’m gonna…” Lindy stroked Dory’s cheek gently. “Go practice for tonight’s gig…”she laughed as she got out of the cart and headed back to her Jeep without looking back.
