Rachel just turned the corner of the camper when a dark swift force swooped out of nowhere and almost knocked her aside. Rachel grabbed hold of the camper to get her footing when she saw the red-tailed hawk reach out its raptor’s talons and grasp hold of coiled snake basking on the black step of the camper in the afternoon sun. Rachel’s eyes followed the hawk as it headed down the lot toward the river and perched in the top of the tallest tree. Rachel looked away as the bird ripped and tore at the snake. After making sure that there were no more snakes lurking around, Rachel scampered into the camper. She went straight to the fridge. She rummaged around until she found the doggie bag from Lodge; she took the medium rare steak and was just about to go back out side when Dory interrupted her. “Hey I was saving that for the late night munchies……”Dory pouted “Sorry about that, I have commandeered it as a reward!” Rachel said as she sailed out of the camper. “Reward for what?” Dory demanded as she stood in the doorway. “Reward for the snake catcher!” Rachel replied. “SNAKES!!!!” Dory all but screamed. Rachel took the steak and broke it up and set it on the picnic table. She gave a long piercing whistle and watched as the hawk took flight from his perch and floated up the lot and flew down on the picnic table, he cocked his head sideways at the meat, and then looked at Rachel. Rachel backed up to the camper and called out to the hawk. “Thanks for getting the snake out of here….” Rachel smiled even though she knew the hawk had no idea of what she had said….or did he. Rachel went back into the camper where she was immediately amused by Dory's frantic behavior. “I’ll get every thing ready in the bedroom, no, I’ll unpack the fridge, or fuck it all let’s just hook up the truck and get out of here!” Dory blubbered. “What are you talking about?” Rachel said calmly as she readied herself for dinner at the Lodge. “Surely you are not going to keep us here with snakes lurking around?” Dory protested. “Can’t go camping in nature and not expect nature to be around…” Rachel rationalized. For once it was Dory who was the one procrastinating going out for dinner. “Don’t tell me don’t want to go to dinner?” Rachel teased. “I don’t think I feel good…..I think I will stay here…” Dory pouted. “Fine…then I will bring you and the Hawk a doggie bag back. If you change your mind, just give me a call.” Rachel said as she headed out the door. “What if I give you a call to pick us up a……threesome???” Dory ventured. It was those words that brought Rachel back in. She looked at Dory as if she were seeing something entirely new. Rachel went over to the couch and sat down; at a loss with what words to say in retort. “Is that what you want?” Rachel finally asked. “I don’t know…we are out here in the wilds so to speak…it would be a chance to go wild…” Dory defended her request. “No…is that what you really want?” Rachel moved her head ever so slightly and narrowed her eyes a little. Now Dory took that as a signal and took full advantage of Rachel’s piqued interest. “Come on Rach...let’s walk on the wide side.” Dory chided. “Do you have some one in mind already? Are there plans already in place and you are just softening me up for the event?” Rachel began to rapid-fired the questions at Dory. Dory felt uneasy, this is not how she envisioned this going. ‘No….I just thought….I mean ….we are here….and….and….” Dory stammered. “Dory….if you want to have the experience of having a threesome…by all means…go ahead….but it won’t be in my house, my bed or with me. The day that you cross that line…” Rachel left the thought unfinished and Dory was glad that she did. Dory could just see that front door key vanish; she swallowed hard and started to get ready to go to the Lodge.
