Dory had crawled out bed and gotten a shower. She had yet another hang-over from hell. At this rate she was not going to survive this vacation. For the second night in a row, she had drunk way too much and was paying the price now. Last night she remembered all too clearly what had happened outside the Lodge with Lindy. Luckily for her, Rachel was just as horny as she was and though the sex with Rachel was now a blur. Dory could vividly remember every single moment that she and Lindy spent against the lean-to. There was something so dangerously exciting about Lindy. Forbidden. Dory knew that she was walking on dangerous ground. Hell, she was slipping down a steep slope at very fast pace. For once, Dory was glad that Rachel was not around this morning to deal with. Just coping with the hang-over was enough. Trying to twist her mind around the events of last night took a lot more energy than Dory could handle at this particular time. Dory could see that Rachel had cleaned up from the night before. The clothes that Dory had stripped off were now neatly folded on the couch. Dory picked up the white silk shirt and realized that sometime today she was going to have to explain how she ruined a $200 dollar blouse. Shit! That was definitely one piece of evidence that should have been taken care of last night. The shirt that Dory held begged to be explained. Rachel walked into the camper and looked at the blouse in Dory's hand. "I was going to ask you about that." Rachel began evenly. "What happened to the shirt?" "I needed some fresh air last night at the lodge." Dory shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly. "There were some stupid dykes having a drama-rama over someone looking at someone's ex. Next thing I knew, one started shoving the other and knocked me against the outside of the Lodge wall and scraped the shit out of my Dior. Stupid bitches! They are wearing matching 'my girlfriend is gay' sweatshirts and ruin my best silk shirt." Dory lied effortlessly. Rachel took the shirt from Dory and held it up and looked at it with a very experienced eye. The back of the silk shirt looked like it had been rubbed against a tree. It was snagged with some tiny bits of wood splinters still clinging to the fabric. Rachel knew from her own experience out on the lodge deck, that the log walls were rough. The explanation fit the damage. "It's ok, perhaps you should dress down a little bit while we are here or we will end up getting you a whole new wardrobe whenever we get home." Rachel tried to laugh off the incident. Eager to take the attention off the ruined shirt. Dory hugged Rachel and pecked her appreciatively on the cheek "So when are we going home? I only took a two week vacation." Dory informed Rachel. "I know....I know....but we've only been here three days and four nights." Rachel reminded Dory. "I promise to get you back to the bank on time." Rachel laughed. "What about you?" Dory asked pointed. "You never did tell me how long you were taking off from the D.A's office." "I haven't decided yet……." Rachel said simply. Dory opened the small camper fridge and grabbed a cold diet soda. She had a raging thirst. She popped the top and practically guzzled the entire can. Rachel had brought back a take-out from the Lodge and had set it on the kitchen table; Dory looked hopefully at the Styrofoam container and smiled when Rachel popped it in the microwave to reheat. Up until now, Dory had not realized that she was so famished. Rachel rummaged around in the small pantry and brought out the toaster and fixed a couple of slices of toast to go with the egg and bacon casserole for Dory. For a very brief moment, Dory almost felt a twinge of guilt over her dalliance with Lindy. Then she dug into the casserole and toast and the moment was gone like a wisp of smoke. Dory was always one to deal with the moment at hand, what had passed, was no longer important. The fact that Rachel had so readily accepted her version of shirt incidence without question only strengthened Dory's delusion that nothing had really happened last night. And her version was very believable, she even believed it now. That was her story.....she was sticking to it.
