Terri and Jesse slept in a rope hammock that was under the gazebo they had built the
year before. This was their refuge. Terri had landscaped the water feature at the edge
of the gazebo, complete with a waterfall, spillway and deep pool. The sounds created
by the water scape were calming and soothing, making this their favorite little refuge.
The two were snuggled together and were snoozing in the late afternoon. They were
completely unaware of the eyes that watched them from the distance.

The
Watcher shifted slightly to get a better view of the lovers under the gazebo.
Concealed behind the thick foliage, the
Watcher smiled at the scene and clicked
another picture with the cell phone camera. A twig snapped and the
Watcher
hunkered down deeper in the concealment. The phone was slipped into a pocket. The
vigil would have to be curtailed for now. The
Watcher slipped silently down the back
path and deeper into the trails that crisscrossed the park. The lovers in the hammock
never realized they had been under Watcher's surveillance.

Jesse woke up first, although it had only been a short nap, she felt better than she had
that morning. She stretched her legs and before she knew it, the hammock went one
way and she and Terri ended up on the ground in a heap.

"What the fuck!" Terri gasped as she tried to re-orient herself to the light of day.

"Sorry Babe," Jesse tried to stifle the giggle as she looked at the surprise on Terri's
face. “I had a leg cramp and had to stretch."

"Damn," Terri grumbled as she got up from the Astra turf that padded the interior of
the gazebo's concrete surface. "Those things should come with seat belts...I think I
busted my ass"

"Ahh babe.....you were born with that crack." Jesse quipped as she scooted out of
Terri's reach and headed up to the trailer. She was safe for now, after all Terri had just
woke up. Jesse knew she had a good 15 minute head start.

Once in the trailer, Jesse checked her cell phone. There were several messages, but
the number was not one that she recognized. Terri came limping through the camper
door and was rubbing her butt. Jesse clicked on the first message and the chime said
"you gotta a pic". The picture opened up and she saw her and Terri in the hammock
with the text under it
"r u safe?"  Jesse shook her head in confusion. Without a word
she handed Terri the phone and Terri looked at the picture. Then she clicked opened
the next message, same scene, different text.
"Nt 4 Lng!"

Terri went back out to the gazebo and hit the trails behind the small hill behind their lot.
She couldn't see anything or anyone out of the ordinary. But when she opened the
next message is when she started to really get angry.

The last picture was a little fuzzy like the hand had moved before it took the shot.
Under the picture was another text.
"1 GON!" Terri saved the messages and flipped
the phone off. She walked down to the camper and turned when she heard some
rustling in the bushes. But was just Tassi the orange tabby from their next door
neighbor's lot. She was out chasing the birds, but the birds had a big advantage. Tassi
had a huge silver bell on her collar which gave all the winged creatures’ fair warning
when she was on the prowl.

Jesse came out onto the deck. She looked at phone and then at her partner. Those
blue eyes were questioning, searching for something about the bizarre messages to
make sense. Terri slipped the phone into her shorts pocket for safety and shrugged
her shoulders. “Probably one of our campers playing a practical joke." She lamely
tried to explain what was not making any sense to her. “I’ll get security to run the
numbers. I tried to redial, but it came up outta network. I'll take care of it. Nothing for
you to worry bout."

Jesse cocked her head sideways and studied her partner. "You never did tell me
about your interlude with Lindy and Nell." Jesse reminded her partner.

"Let's see. Nell explained the new rules and regs; Lindy of course had some
reservations which we sorta ended up hammering out in the end." Terri recapped the
Lindy episode. Jessie was skeptical at the complete explanation but knew that she
was probably going to get a little more detail from Nell later on at the Lodge later this
evening. Terri felt the phone in her pocket vibrate again. She flipped up the lid and
looked at the empty hammock underneath the gazebo. In flash, she was out on the
deck. It was the text message that pissed her off.
"WATCHIN.........."
