The lodge was beginning to fill up as soon as the sun began it's decent. The buffet had been all laid out, so everything was ready to grab and go. The kitchen staff had enough time to head back to their campers and freshen up before the night’s activities. All the staff members showed their id's at the beginning of the buffet, the retreat guests that remain from the raucous weekend paid for their buffet. The mood was light hearted and the regulars mingled with the staff and everyone was comfortable and ready to enjoy the evening. It was Lindy's night off, but the singer was helping herself to the bountiful appetizers and sandwiches and salads that lined one whole wall of the lodge. The best part about this gig was the food. She filled up a couple of plates and headed to a table only to be waylaid by the waitresses who were more than happy to help escort her and her plates to a rather secluded table in the corner. Lindy just smiled as they each tried to outdo the other on bestowing attention on her. Lindy mused to herself...."Lean looks, good pipes....strap on a guitar and....instant chick magnet.....ohhhhh how sweet it is"! Louise was fretting over some last minute items added to the buffet when Taylor walked in. Even Louise stopped to do a double take. Taylor wore a custom low cut tank in white silk that stopped mid drift showing off a beautiful set of sculpted abs. A simple gold chain adorned her satin smooth neck. Gold hoops hung from her exquisite earlobes. Her full sensuous lips were glazed in a smokin hot cherry red lip gloss. She had a pair of white jeans that hugged her hips and every curve of her thighs and legs. A pair of black brushed suede boots that came up mid calf completed her outfit. It was on a WOW factor... a definite 12 out of 10! "Gurl......" Louise admonished "You are lookin to get yo self sumpin tonite!" Louise whistled low in appreciation of the stunning young woman before her. “You just gave every gal in here....a wet spot!" Louse chortled. “Get yourself a plate chile....umm mm you are going to need all the energy you can get tonight!." Taylor just elbowed her Aunt lovingly and began to fill her plate. It was when she turned that she saw Lindy in the corner; Lindy had stopped eating and was staring at Taylor. Taylor cocked her head and kissed the air toward Lindy and walked away unfazed by the singer's so-call magnetic personality. Lindy swallowed hard and had to grab a drink. She had tuned out the groupies as soon as Taylor and turned and blown that kiss in her direction. Fucking Taylor, Petey, and the most of the rest of the Partners seemed to be the only ones not enraptured by her. It infuriated her. It especially struck a sore spot that Taylor and Petey were closer than twins. Lindy had done her best to bed Taylor last year. She laid out her best lines, she turned on the charm into overdrive, but nothing penetrated Taylor's aloofness to her. That was like a slap in the face to the 'Crotch Bandit' ....as she had been so dubiously dubbed last year. All of a sudden....the voracious appetite that Lindy had.... dissipated in that devastating Kiss Off that Taylor just gave her. Terri and Jesse were headed to their table when Terri happened to catch out of the corner of her eye the wordless exchange between Taylor and Lindy. That was a priceless moment. Unbeknownst to Jesse; who was heading toward their table with food and drink, Terri beckoned to Taylor to join them at the table that was next to the stage. Petey, Nell and Kimmy were already seated and enjoying the food. Terri pulled out Jess's chair and quickly sat down on her own before Jesse could set her plate and drink down. Silently they all looked up at Jesse. "Fuck!" Jesse said as her head dropped. "I know.....I know......last one at the table does the intros......" she sighed as she slipped into the chair and everyone laughed. "Babe....you do it so well....." Terri tried to lighten the moment, but one look from Jesse and she couldn't help but bust out laughing. She just looked so forlorn "Now don't you fret none lil Jesse" Louise smiled and nudged her from the next table. "Next time I'll hold them up in the line and make sure you get seated first." Louise promised. "Thanks Lou......" Jesse shrugged her shoulders. "Well everyone is eating now...so it can wait until I am done." Jesse smiled wickedly as she started to eat. Terri leaned over toward Petey and caught her eye with a raised eyebrow. Petey knew the sign and what it meant. "Hey Terri, can you come with me to check out something behind the bar? I think we might need to make a repair tomorrow." Petey asked nonchalantly as she excused herself from the table. "Sure, excuse us laborers.... gals..." Terri laughed as she followed Petey behind the oak bar out of earshot of the table. "Was up T?" Petey asked quickly. "This!" Terri said as she pulled out the cell phone with the pics and captions. Petey took the phone, looked at each picture and a very uneasy feeling began to stir within her. "Whoa...." Petey whispered as she handed back the phone. "Any ideas of who might be stalking you and Jesse?" Petey asked. "Well the first suspect is Lindy....." Terri sighed and then recounted the incident where Lindy's bravado met with Terri's right cross. "Holy shit! I leave you alone for a few hours and you are fighting......with Lindy of all people. Damn we could have sold tickets for that! I would have paid money to seen it." Petey grinned proudly at her boss. "Trust me.....it was a quickie.....hardly a fight at all....more like…. a connect and a knock down....." Terri laughed as she looked across the room at the very sullen figure of Lindy. Their eyes connected and they looked at each other for a long long time. It was Lindy who looked away first, she turned her attention to one of the many girls who sat at her table and completely dismissed Terri. "Well..." Petey took a deep breath. "How do you want to handle this?" "First, we alert security. See if anyone can get any information on the numbers, but my guess it is probably on the disposable phones we have in the camp store. That can make tracing it difficult. For now put an extra detail to monitor activity around Lindy's camper and both Nell's and mine as well. I don't want anymore incidents like this happening. Jesse was the one who picked up the phone. The last thing she needs to worry about is having some asinine stalker trying to fuck with her." Terri looked back at the table and smiled at Jesse and waved her hand. "Consider it done.” Petey nodded as she turned and went though the swinging doors of the back of the bar into where the walk-in refrigerators were. It was there she contacted the security station with her cell phone and issued the orders for the evening. Petey quickly rejoined Terri gave her a discreet thumbs up sign and they made their way back to the table. Jesse was looking out over the lodge when she spied Meg and Kelly coming in. Jesse could see that Megan was already uncomfortable and reluctant to join the party. Jesse excused herself quickly and made her way over to the buffet where Kelly and Megan waited to make their plates. Jesse reached out and hugged both the gurls and squealed with delight. That welcome alone made Meg beam with joy. "Nell said that she invited you guys up...thanks for joining us" Jesse welcomed them both. "As soon as you get your plates ready, I have two places saved for you at our table." Jesse smiled. "I've got to get back....but we will be waiting!" "Kelly.....can't we sit in the back" Megan whispered to her partner after Jesse left. "Baby.....it'll be ok......I am here and no one will mess with you.....let's join the gals and just relax...." Kelly put her arm around the shoulders of Megan and drew her close. "I love you babe. You are beautiful." And she kissed her cheek and began the process of getting their plates together. Megan followed with the drinks and they headed to the two empty seats at the table. Everyone greeted Kelly and Megan warmly. It wasn't long before the conversation was in full swing. They talked about everything..... politics.....who was doing who.....who was wanting to do who.....who needed to do who.....there was laughter and joking and the mood was festive. Nell nudged Jesse in the side, "I think it is time for you to head up to the stage gal." With a sigh, Jesse scraped back her chair and made her way up to the lone mic that was on stage.” Well, once again fate has me up here doing the honors of welcoming you all to the Sunday Night Fling. Now for those of you who are returning and know what this is all about just ignore me for a few minutes..... That being said; for those of you who want to watch some televised lesbionic action, the big screen TV in the ante room of the lodge is tuned into your favorite Sapphic Series. After that, we will be setting up for our Open Mic Night, where you get to be the star. So anyone wanting to sing, dance, tell jokes, or share poetry, please see Kimmy and she will get you set up. It's your night! Now enjoy the rest of this wonderful buffet put together by our Chef's Louise, Della and Taylor and the rest their talented staff. Remember! We recycle and put your plates, cans and bottles in the appropriate barrels. Have a great time!" Jesse smiled as she whooped and hopped off the stage amid the applause. Jesse slumped down in her chair and reached for the ice cold blue bottle of Skye that was waiting for her. Terri lifted her own bottle and clinked it against Jesse's. "Ya did good babe!" Dory and Rachel entered the Lodge and paid for their buffet and began filling their plates. Petey watched as Rachel walked through the line and a hint of a smile crossed her lips. Taylor watched her friend and the object of her gaze and put two and two together in a nano second and realized that Petey had a crush on the exotic Auburn haired Texan. Now this was going to be fun! Taylor already began to devise a plan for a little surprise tonight. After she filled her plate, Dory took a moment to scope out the Lodge. She was looking for Lindy. And she found her with several of the waitresses already humming around her like bees to nectar. She shot a smoldering look toward Lindy who's eyes perked immediately and the singer smiled her signature "come and get it" grin. Dory had to bite her lip and turn away as Rachel headed toward an empty table not far from the stage. Once seated, Dory could see that they were in plain view of both Petey and Lindy. "The food is great," Rachel dug into her salad and appetizers. "It's ok...." Dory murmured nonchalantly. "Come on Dory....it's as good....no even better..... Than any of the restaurants we go to at home!" Rachel chided her young partner. "I love the food, the atmosphere...." "Well don't love it too much. Remember we are leaving!" Dory reminded Rachel. There was a whistle blown that attracted everyone's attention. "This is the 10 minute warning for the TV viewers" Kimmy's voice rang out across the crowd. At that point, there was a flurry of activity as those who were fans of the Lesbian Series went into high gear in finishing their food in time. Plates were quickly dispatched and tables cleaned up. On Sunday Night everyone was responsible to bus their own area or table. There was a flux of bodies heading to the ante room. Kimmy was leading the pack. It wasn't long before you could hear the theme song reverberating from the rafters of the Lodge. There was still a good crowd left on the buffet side content to continue to enjoy their meal and listen to raucousness from the big screen TV. As soon as the show was over, the crowd made their way back to the stage area to enjoy the rest of the evening's festivities. When Kimmy returned she turned her attention to addressing the Open Mic for the night. No one wanted to go first, but there were several that wanted to come up to share a song, or do a poetry reading. Kimmy strapped on her Ovation and headed to the stage. Nell watched and clapped as Kimmy walked up to the mic. "Now normally......" Kim began "I'd just bust out into some Melissa or James T.....but tonight....tonight I want to dedicate this song to Nell. Baby... this is for you..." And Kimmy began playing the intricate piece “My Sweet Lady" by John Denver. Kim never took her eyes off of Nell. She sang the song as if there were only the two of them in the room. Nell had tears in her eyes and blew Kim a kiss and pressed her hand to her heart when the song was done. Nell knew in that moment, that Kimmy had thought long and hard about their relationship and said it all in that song. It was a beautiful moment. The whole room erupted into applause. Kimmy took her bow and looked at the list in her hand and smiled just a little deviously. "Next up is.........Petey!" Kimmy began clapping. Petey was caught totally by surprise and held up her hands in a 'What The Fuck' is happening. She tried to bow out by shaking her head, but the glasses and bottles were clanking on the table and "Petey... Petey...Petey" was being chanted and cheered throughout the Lodge. The blonde shook her head and scraped back her chair and headed toward the stage. She grabbed the mic and noticed that Taylor and Kimmy had slipped off into the control booth. She shook her head at the clamoring and held up her hands. "Normally.....I would have something that I have written....but you all have caught me off guard....I don't start spouting poetry until at least two weeks into the season..." Petey joked with the crowd naturally. "So.....since I don't have anything of mine to share with you lovely ladies tonight" Petey's seductively deep voice calmed the raucous crowd. "A good friend of mine sent me a poem that she just had copyrighted and gave me permission to use. The author is Kerri Mosley, and she hails from Texas. For those who get online on the Chart, her screen name is "Texaschart". With your kind indulgence I would like to share that with you tonight." Everyone applauded as Petey closed her eyes and started slowing reciting in a very deep sensuously sexy voice these words, “ Dream For Me” The house lights began to dim. And Petey began..... "Standing there waiting for me. Our eyes lock and softly smile, Move closer so I can love you." The crowd listened as Petey softly and seductively spoke to them as the house lights continued to dim darker and darker. "My hands discover your secrets, Yours and mine now forever. No other moved so sweetly Wiping away falling tears With long overdue first kisses.” Not a word was spoken, not a bottle or glass was moved, the audience was spellbound by the words and voice of the woman before them. "The reasons we never acted Fade away with every breath. We’re here – we’re now – we’re only, Embracing our hearts and souls, Don’t wake me because I’m loving you." Now the lights on the stage began to dim until Petey stood at the mic bathed in a amber glow. Petey’s voice became more softly seductive at each stanza. "I wake and live my dreamy thoughts, The sun shines for me no matter. Those thoughts turn this hell to heaven, I breathe only because of you." "My heart urges me to find you, While my head says, “No, just dream.” It’s those thoughts of you that push me In a way I can’t control, “Hello, it’s me. Yes, I’ve missed you.” " The sight of you ignites me, Your look fans smoke to fire. You say you’ve held and kissed me Deep in the dark of your nights, Dreaming for me to dream for you. Petey closed her eyes for the last stanza, the house lights were almost completely blacked out, not a sound was heard in the crowd. In a hushed almost anguished voice she spoke the last lines of the poem. "Dream for me to love you, Dim the lights and let me sleep To make perfect love in the dark-" Petey opened her eyes and looked out at the darken room searching for someone and just as she said the last sentence the stage light on her went black and a spotlight began to beam down on Rachel. “ Dream for me, I dream for you” From the stage Petey looked over toward the sound booth and could see the two conspirators of Taylor and Kimmy giving her the thumbs up. The house erupted into thunderous applause. Rachel; bathed in the spotlight, stood up and applauded.................and was joined by everyone there as they gave Petey a standing ovation. From the darken stage Petey spoke softly and graciously "I accept this applause on behalf of Kerri .... who created that beautiful poem….. Tex, I hope I made you proud!" she said as she stepped back from the mic and applauded the beautiful prose “Dream Of Me.” .” © Kerri Mosley 2008 Click On the River to Continue to Chapter 49 Labinky Park 2008 Labinky Park Enterprises 2008 Check Out River's Designs!
