Nell was at her desk enjoying her second cup of morning coffee when she spied Jesse limping past her door with Terri trailing behind, carrying a cushion. Nell shook her head and smiled as picked up her cup and joined the two women in their office. “Morning y’all” she cheerfully greeted as she watched Terri place the cushion on Jesse’s chair and Jesse gingerly sit down. “Mornin Nell” Jesse winced slightly as she adjusted herself on the cushion. “Well darlin’” Nell’s soft accent began “You look like you’ve been rode hard and put away wet!” she nodded with a knowing look. Jesse lifted a very tired middle finger in the air and tired her best to smile. While Terri had a pussy-eating grin on her face. And that told the story right there. “I was practicing my yoga poses” Jesse lamely tried to excuse her condition “And I pulled a muscle.” “Now I have tried the corpse pose…. the cobra pose…. and of course the downward facing dog pose…..but you my dear….. you look like you have been practicing the over-the-shoulder-hump-her-hard pose….” Nell laughed at Jesse’s confession. It was then that Kim walked in the office and made herself comfortable by sitting cross-legged on the corner of Terri’s desk. “OK…whadda I miss….” She said as she sipped on her travel mug of brew. “I was just commenting on our lil Jesse’s delicate condition.” Nell smiled. "So wadja ya do…..?” Kimmy’s was looking at Terri who had pulled her chair out behind her desk and sat down and grinned. “Just what I do best…..” Terri shrugged her shoulders and beamed with pride. “It’s ok Jesse……” Nell came over and hugged her shoulders. “I was walking like you are right now the whole weekend before you got here!” “Fuck me!” Terri growled as she reached into her jeans pocket pulled out her money and peeled a twenty off the folded bills and handed it off to Kim. “Hot Damn!” Kimmy snatched the bill and pushed her outback hat down on top of her head a little firmer. The exchange between Terri and Kim had not gone without notice of their respective partners who were both eyeing the two dubious conspirators in a new light. “What?” Kim was shrugging her shoulders. “I believe you two have some explaining to do….” Nell’s looked from one to other and waited. “Well Kim and I were building the stage last year right before we closed down…..” Terri began the narrative and then looked toward Kim. “It was a cool idea….and we both were talking bout how we’d like to…..ummmm…..” Kim started to stammer. “Be center stage…..so to speak….” Terri tried to help Kim explain. “Yeah….so….we….sorta…..built the stage with two purposes in mind…” Kim was trying to stuff the culprit twenty in her pocket. “I can understand…..” Jesse said as she shifted in her seat to get a more comfortable position “Measuring and building the stage……but I am a little confused as to why the twenty exchanged hands.” She raised her eyebrow toward Terri. “We….didn’t have a…..chance to christen it last year before we left…..so….we placed….just a friendly little wager…..on who would…ahhh…..” “Fuck me!” Jesse exclaimed red-faced. “I believe I did that already…..” Terri smiled. “Well I be ....” Nell laughed. “You know I was lookin at the stage on Friday night and I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me…..left of center stage under the molding is a nail pattern in the form of a T….and on the right of center stage is one in the form of a K. These two marked their territory…..and then marked us…” Nell shook her head laughing. “Jesse honey…..we’ve been “staged” and they bet on who would get there first!” Nell laughed. “I lost the bet…..but I think I won so much more.” Terri laughed. Nell reached in her pocket and pulled out a business card and handed it to Jesse. “Here’s the name of my chiropractor….and he is right up the road. I called the day after I got staged…..he is giving us a discount….cause I told him I would be sending a lot of clients his way.” Nell smiled knowingly. “I have just one question……. what else has been “Built to perfection” around here?” Jesse asked as she took to card from Nell and started to punch the number into her cell phone. Terri looked at Kim and Kim looked at Terri and they both looked back at their partners who were on the other side of the desk. “Well……let’s just say…..it’s gonna be a long summer…..and the stakes are high!” Kim hooted as the cushion sailed across the room and smacked Terri in the head.
