Nell had left the main Lodge area and was sitting out on the deck when Lindy had began her show on stage. Nell could see the whole thing from the glass windows, but she didn’t want to be a part of that party. It was here that Jesse found her. Jess pulled out a chair and sat down beside her friend. “It was bit much for me too.” Jesse said as she nodded to the inside of the Lodge. “I definitely needed some fresh air,” Nell said softly. “You know Terri, didn’t quite give me all the details about what happened with you two and Lindy….” Jesse began. “But I knew that you would fill in the blanks for me.” Jesse smiled that infectious grin of hers. Nell was smiling herself as she shook her head. “Lindy tried to make a move on me, she actually kissed me.” Nell shuddered. “I’d sooner suck snake venom! I was bout ready to slap the shit outta her when Terri came in and pushed her up against the wall. I thought Terri was gonna shove her through it…..but I had to go and talk her out of hurting Lindy so Terri let her go. Of course Lindy is not one to let things go, she tried to sucker punch Terri which was one helluva mistake cause Terri only swung once and Lindy went down like a sack of shit.” Nell chuckled as she recalled the scene. “You’re partner is something else, as soon as Lindy hit the floor she was checking for vitals, pulse, her eyes, making sure that she didn’t really hurt the girl. Then she hoisted her up on her shoulders and we got her back to her camper……when Lindy re-entered the land of the living…..we had a chat….and I think things will be a little easier for Louise’s young uns. If there is any more “mistakes” she is gone!” Jesse nodded her head in agreement. “Maybe next year, we better raise the age limit for the staff that works here. I was looking over the records…. we were lucky this year, we only had one gal that was truly underage. But I am thinking that for everyone’ s peace of mind, we just better hire the summer help at the age of eighteen. No worries then. Everyone is of age and we don’t have to worry bout the underage sex. Even though we know it happens….damny gurls will be gurls….But when you are that young and to be used as someone’s cherry picker….it stains the heart…..you know what I mean…” Jesse looked at Nell who nodded with her in agreement. The Lodge door opened and a very hesitant Meg stepped out on the deck. She looked around and was surprised to see Nell and Jesse sitting in the corner. It was Jesse who waved her over to sit with them. “It’s a little much in there,” Megan’s laughed as she fanned her flushed face. “Just another normal night at the Lodge.” Nell laughed softly. “No wonder Kelly likes it here….it so alive” Megan said wistfully. “Those girls are wild up there…..” she pointed through the glass at Dory and Lindy. “Yeah….they is something else.” Nell murmured thoughtfully. “I just haven’t quite figured out what yet!” In a matter of a few minutes, Kelly was out the door and searching the lodge deck for Megan. “There you are…..are you ok baby?” Kelly asked softly as she came over and stood behind Megan and looked down in concern. “I’m fine….just needed a little fresh air” Megan smiled up at her partner. “Did you tell them yet?” Kelly asked as she pulled out a chair and sat down beside Meg and held her hand. “No….I….I….was going to…but…” Megan stammered nervously. “Ok….what’s up you two?” Jesse cocked her head and inquired at the two sitting across the table from her. “Well…..we just got word this week……Megan was approved for the surgery. She is going to have the Gastric By-Pass.” Kelly announced. “Wow….talk about life altering…..! Megan, I know you have been waiting for this for two years. What a relief to know that it’s finally going to happen!” Jesse clapped her hands. “All together…. it’s actually been a five year journey…..I have been to every specialist there is….Kelly and I have paid enough co-pays to fund a small hospital….” Megan smiled shyly. “We did not start out thinking about this surgery or any surgery for that matter. We just wanted to find out what was wrong with my body…..the less I ate and the more I moved…the bigger I got.” Megan had tears in her eyes. “I would look in the mirror and be horrified that… that… reflection was me….because this is not me!” Megan’s voice trembled and Kelly put her head on her shoulder. “I was against the surgery from the very beginning….” Kelly began. “I did the research, I talked to the doctors and argued and argued with them. It was when we found her Endocrinologist, a woman doctor who finally began to listen…..really listen to Megan’s story. She asked for pictures of Megan so she could see her growth pattern, we found out that Megan had an Aunt with Cushing’s syndrome and Megan had a variant form of it. Then once we had the answer, it was the doctors, all of them finally working together that came up with the plan to do the surgery…..and I was dead set against it. They had to lay it all out for me, step by step, why it was the best way to help Meg. It was when the one Doctor told me point blank. Megan will die very soon if she does not have this surgery! If she has the surgery, we can extend her lifespan by 15 to 20 years……I don’t want to lose her…..so when Meg was convinced that it was right…I knew that I had to support her in her decision.” Kelly smiled broadly. “I think what she is doing is brave!” “So do I” clapped Nell. “So do I! Darlin you deserve to be in a body you feel comfortable in…..and if this surgery is what it takes…..we support you both. When is it scheduled?” “Well there is a lot of testing and preparation to go through yet. But we are looking about two to three months from now.” Megan grinned. “This time next year….I’ll be able to get in Kelly’s pants!” Megan beamed. “Baby…..you never had a problem getting into my pants before…..”Kelly smiled a shit- ass grin. And Megan blushed from embarrassment and pride….as she slowly nodded her head in agreement….. much to everyone’s surprise. “You go Gurl!” Jesse cheered.
